Domestic Verified Travellers Program

A made-in-Canada verified travellers program

To travel through the "good" line at the airport, Canadians need a NEXUS card which requires the permission of Donald Trump's Homeland Security apparatus. Why should Canadians need American approval to travel efficiently? Sen. Paula Simons calls upon the Government of Canada to investigate the creation of a sovereign, domestic Verified Travellers Program for Canadians.

"Let’s tell the government we want something better, something fairer, a made-in-Canada verified traveller program that respects our language rights, our civil rights and our national sovereignty."

— Senator Paula Simons

The Office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer estimates that the net cost of the Verified Travellers Program for Canadians would be $7 million from 2026-27 to 2030-31. Learn more about the report by clicking on the image.
